Hibernation, then optimisation :- )

The 42ish regular readers of my blog might be curious about how my FromeBlooms venture is going. The idea was to make a fresh bouquet each day of flowers from our garden, and put it up for sale on FromeBlooms.com.

I kept this as a daily habit until autumn, making over 100 bouquets in total. In October I offered floral gift boxes, and towards the end of 2017 I was making garlands and decorations from garden gathered foliage.

In hindsight, I should have planned better for winter, as right now there is little to offer for sale, and very little colour in the garden. So, FromeBlooms will be hibernating for a few months, and back in the spring, and I’ve updated the site to show this.

If you’d like to be the first to hear when the FromeBlooms spring collection is available, please visit the site and register your email address.

I’ve got plans to optimise the website and improve the service in spring, so watch this space. It’ll be a part time venture from now as I have a part time job, but that’s perfect in many ways as there’s less financial pressure.

There are plenty of colourful winter plants, like these skimmia, that could be used in homegrown posies to brighten up these dismal late winter months, I just need a heck of a lot more of them to be able to offer these for sale.

So for the next few weeks, I’ll be planning my planting for this year, settling into a new routine, and waiting for the earth to warm  up.

I hope that whatever you are planning for this year goes well, and I hope you have a few bright blooms around to see you through the winter months.
