It’s easy to lose track of what day it is during the festivities, but I checked and it’s certainly Monday, so here’s my collection in a vase on monday for the new year.
There’s just a few flowers to choose from at this time of year, but that makes what is available more special. Such as these little yellow snapdragons I brought from London, and planted by the pinkish ones planted here by the previous gardener. They’re very nearly finished, but still a very welcome splash of colour.
I collected a posy of with the snapdragons, of maidenhair fern, heather, parsley, bay, and eucalyptus from the garden, and put them in a lovely twisted vase that my husband gave me a few years ago.
The fresh flowers sit on the table with an arrangement of twisted willow stems and dried seedheads which I collected here last January, in a gorgeous two-tone vase that my husband gave me this christmas. I’ve added some glittery decor, and I like how the little bits of tinsel catch the sunlight.
I’m about ready to put my feet up and flick through a few seed catalogues for the year ahead. But first I’ll pop over and you join Cathy and her happy gang for this joyous blogging habit and see what other gardeners have collected In a Vase on Monday.
Whatever your plans are, I hope you have a blooming marvellous 2018!
Wonderful festive blooms with so much color….and look at that sun!

Oh I especially love the seedheads and glittery bits in the taller vase – some good ideas to be stored in my head till next year – but to have such colour in your first vase at the beginning of January! Lovely lovely – thanks for sharing
