It’s been another busy week, and a busy day, so I just have six quick snaps to share this week for Six on Saturday. See more at Garden Ruminations.
First up the yukka, with its huge flowers, and the sunny hammock time we’ve recently enjoyed.

The roses are lush, and I’ve picked some for a vase.

I did a bit more bramble patrol and some willow fedge pruning / harvesting.

As well as some sitting in the hammock enjoying the scent of the honeysuckle and the company of the blackbird.

And this little critter – maybe a cricket – came into the house with the roses, but didn’t seem too miffed when it was gently returned to the garden.

I hope you enjoy the weekend, whatever the weather brings you.

If your yucca is Yucca gigantea, it will be an izote — the national flower of El Salvador. The flowers are apparently edible, says Wikipedia … Fab roses! Ours are good too, even with no sunshine. Your garden looks wonderful! xxx
Beautiful roses.
We had no flowers on our Yucca last year and that yours is flowering now could suggest we’re going to get none this year. I must check back to see when it has usually flowered.
Yes thankfully it has been sunny in my part of Somerset too today (Sunday), yesterday it was tediously wet and dark. What is your rose? It looks a little like mine, but not quite, mine is ‘Grace’, which has grown taller and lankier than previous years somehow.
Yucca bloom is so pretty within landscapes that it does not conform to, as if it is more prominent that it would be among more similar vegetation. I tend to grow mine among other species of the same genus. While in Arizona, I saw mass plantings of them. They were very appealing in such settings as well, but looked more like ‘landscaping’ than a garden.
