I’m really looking forward to Frome potato day. It’s a gardening event at the Cheese & Grain, the biggest venue in town. 

The Foo Fighters played a secret gig there yesterday, which caused some kerfuffle, but I’m much more excited by potatoes. 

I’m trying to ‘chit’ my spuds, which involves leaving the seed potatoes in a cold sunny spot to put out shoots. My seed spuds have been sitting in the sun in the conservatory for a few weeks, refusing to shoot. 

Meanwhile my spuds in the fridge put several unwanted shoots. Hmph!

Perhaps I can get some advice from experienced experts at potato day tomorrow. All my life I’ve enjoyed potatoes, it would be good to learn how to grow them. 😉
