This week’s ‘Six On Saturday’ selection is made on a rainy day with snapshots taken yesterday between the downpours.

The first of six ‘things’ in the garden is this honeysuckle, there are two large clumps of it near the house and at the sweet scent it makes is just lovely.

Next up ‘turkish sage’ aka Phlomis russeliana, which has been in this patch for years, but used to be overwhelmed by the huge treacleberry that I removed a few months ago. The sage has made the most of the extra light and is flowering beautifully. We spotted a lot of these when visiting Peit Oudoulf’s garden at the art gallery ‘Hauser and Wirth’ last weekend.

Behold the shiny, chunky green thighs of this thick legged flower beetle on a hawkweed. What a fine looking fellow it is.

Also, this week I admired this little micro moth, hanging out on a lady’s mantle.

I’m thrilled that the foxgloves have popped up again in the wildflower patch.

And last but not least, the sweetpeas are beginning to flower.

So, that’s my sweetly scented ‘SixOnSaturday’ selection for this week.
